Minimally invasive reconstructions

Ultra-thin ceramic reconstructions are an alternative to traditional treatments involving the grinding of teeth for the use of crowns. Minimally invasive reconstructive techniques have been introduced over the last few years, in order to build up lost dental substance and to treat the remaining tooth with the greatest possible care. Such reconstructions also allow lost structures to be replaced without having to remove additional dental substance. This in vitro study has indicated that ultra-thin ceramic veneers are equal to standard reconstructions where mechanical stability is concerned, even on the biting surfaces of molars.
