Goran Benic grew up in Bellinzona and studied dentistry at the University of Zurich. After taking his state examination in 2002, he practised as an assistant dentist with Dr. Werner Fischer, at that time the cantonal dentist for Zurich.

From 2005 onwards he continued his studies at the Clinic for Crown and Bridge Prosthetics, Partial Prosthetics and Dental Materials of the Centre for Dentistry at the University of Zurich, under the supervision of Prof.Dr. Christoph Hämmerle, in order to qualify as a specialist dentist for reconstructive dentistry and concluded by attaining his doctorate and the corresponding Swiss dental specialist title.

A grant from the International Team of Implantology (ITI) enabled him to attend the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston (USA), in order to consolidate his research work on the clinical procedure of bone regeneration in implantology. After returning to the University of Zurich he expanded his academic and clinical studies until awarded the Venia Legendi (university teaching credentials) as a private lecturer in oral implantology and reconstructive dentistry, and also gained the SSO further qualification certificate for oral implantology.

Dr. Goran Benic practices as a senior dentist and private lecturer at the Centre for Dentistry at the University of Zurich, and is respected both nationally and internationally as a clinician with great expertise in the field of reconstructive dentistry, oral implantology and similar professional fields.

His clinical experience covers a wide spectrum of cases, ranging from the simple to the complex, taking into consideration all clinical options, and if required working together closely with specialists from a proven network of experienced colleagues.

Fabiano Balmelli grew up in Gravesano TI and studied dentistry at the University of Zurich. After taking the state examination in 1994, he practised as an assistant dentist with
Dr. F. Burkhardt in Zurich-Effretikon.

In 1997 he completed his doctorate under the supervision of Prof. Dr. F.Lutz in the Department of Preventive Dentistry, Periodontology and Cariology of the Centre for Dentistry at the University of Zurich and returned to his home canton in the same year.

After three years of acting as an assistant dentist with Dr. Carlo Metzler, Manno, he became his partner in 2000 in a joint dental practice.
Since then, he has also been active in several functions for the Ticino dentists’ association STMD (Società Ticinese dei Medici Dentisti), including taking responsibility for the training of dental assistants.
His clinical activities include treatment of all age groups and symptoms.

Assunta Cao-Villano grew up in Lugano and studied dentistry at the University of Zurich. After taking her state examination in 2013, she practised as an assistant dentist at the Aussersihl Dentistry Training College in Zurich.

From 2014 onwards, she continued her studies in paediatric dentistry at the Clinic for Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry in the Centre for Dentistry of the University of Zurich, under the supervision of Dr. Hubertus van Waes, concluding these further studies with a doctorate and the corresponding Swiss certificate of further qualification.

Since January 2019, Dr. Assunta Cao-Villano has been a member of the professional commission of the Swiss Association for Paediatric Dentistry (SVK).

Her clinical experience covers a wide spectrum. Along with preventive checks and straightforward treatments, including as part of the Ticino school dentist service, Dr. Cao-Villano looks after patients with complex clinical conditions, working closely together with referring colleagues. Another professional focal point is the treatment of dental traumas. Along with the use of the most modern analgesic methods, she is also able to use therapeutic hypnosis techniques in her treatment if required.

Dr. Sandra Gobbi grew up in Lucerne and completed her studies in dentistry at the University of Basel in 1992 with the state examination. Her thesis followed in 1995 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. M. Oberholzer at the Institute of Pathology of the University of Basel.

After three years employed as an assistant dentist at the Volkszahnklinik of the city of Basel, she worked in various private practices in German and Italian-speaking areas of Switzerland from 1996 onwards.

She is a versatile all-rounder, thanks to regular continuation of her studies and many years of practical experience. Her clinical activity covers a wide-ranging spectrum of therapy . Dr. Gobbi’s treatment focuses particularly on.conservative dentistry.

Simone Janner grew up in Castel San Pietro TI and studied dentistry at the Universities of Fribourg and Zurich, receiving his diploma in 2005. He then completed a further postgraduate course in removable prosthetics and facial pain at the clinic for temporo-mandibular disorders and removable prosthetics at the University of Zurich, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sandro Palla and PD Dr. Dr. Dominik Ettlin. 

His following further studies to become a specialist dentist for oral surgery took place at the Clinic for Oral Surgery and Stomatology of the University of Berne, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Daniel Buser. On completion of these studies he received the Swiss professional dentist title and the Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in oral surgery and implant surgery in 2013. A grant from the International Team of Implantology (ITI) enabled him to attend the Department of Periodontics at the University of Texas in San Antonio (USA). The focal points of these studies were bone regeneration and ceramic implantology. After his return to the University of Berne, the continuation of his activity in clinical matters, research and teaching led to him receiving the Venia Legendi in oral surgery, stomatology and implant surgery in 2019.

Dr. Simone Janner practices in the EVIDENS Lugano and ZIKO Bern centers, as well as a clinical instructor at the Clinic for Oral Surgery at the University Center for Dentistry Basel. His professional focus and experience lies in oral and implant surgery, the associated diagnostics, computer-assisted implant surgery and ceramic implants. He carries out oral surgical diagnostics and therapy, from simple to complex, in close interdisciplinary collaboration with the referring colleagues.

Siro De Ry grew up in Bellinzona and studied dentistry at the University of Bern, where he graduated with the federal state examination in 2015. He then worked as an assistant dentist in the practice of Dr. Stefan Rickli in Gunten in the canton of Bern.Starting from 2018, he pursued further training in periodontology and implantology at the Clinic for Periodontology at the University of Bern under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Anton Sculean and Prof. Dr. Giovanni Salvi. He completed this training with a doctorate and obtained the federal dental specialist title in periodontology and the Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in periodontology and implant dentistry in 2022.Currently, Dr. De Ry practices as a general dentist and periodontist at the ZahnAerzte Flamatt dental practice near Bern and at the EVIDENS center in Lugano. His areas of expertise and experience primarily revolve around periodontal therapy, with a particular focus on regenerative periodontal surgery and soft tissue surgery.

Greta Lucchini grew up in Lugano and studied dentistry at the University of Zurich. In 2022 she passed the state examination and received the federal diploma. Since January 2023 she has been practicing as an assistant dentist at the EVIDENS dental practice in Manno-Lugano.
